Britain’s Energy Coast support team scoop national award

THE BUSINESS support team at Britain’s Energy Coast has scooped the 2015 National Enterprise Network’s Local Enterprise Agency of the Year Award, last week.
The Economic Development Agency that both signposts to, and delivers, business support across Copeland and Allerdale picked up the top prize.
They also made the shortlist in two further categories: Future of Enterprise Support and Team of the Year.
Speaking about the news, incoming CEO Michael Pemberton, said: “The win has been the culmination of a team effort at Britain’s Energy Coast, and as we begin to refine the ongoing strategy, it serves as a fantastic reminder of what can be achieved.”
Business Support Co-Ordinator, Shelly Gambles, and Business Support Officer, Louise Kane, travelled to London for the National Enterprise Network’s annual conference on Friday. Presenting the award, the judges stated: “The judges were impressed with the application from Britain’s Energy Coast which clearly demonstrated the quality of their work and the impact they have made.
“They have a strong and experienced team and we were pleased to hear about their emphasis on social good and their commitment to the local community.”
