MUSIC nights are back after a three-month break at Keekle Village Hall with a rhythm and blues night.

Performing on Friday, September 25 will be R&B band MT Arms with support from Val de G, the singing saxophone player.

Cumbrian band MT Arms are a loud, electric rhythm & blues band who have built an enviable reputation on the rhythm and blues circuit. They are a three piece band producing a full, loud, unique sound. They play a mix of classic covers and original material. Classic covers include classic Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Thin Lizzy.

The band members are:

Colin Nichol – Lead guitarist/ singer. Former iron ore miner Colin is steeped in the history of the area and now contracting locally. He has played guitar professionally since he was 14 years old both locally and nationally.

Mick Dale – Bass and backing vocals. Originally from Yorkshire Mick has now set down roots locally. Plays in several bands and has been playing since he was a teenager.

Mike Ellis – Drummer. Mike is a local lad; he plays for several bands locally. Has played since his teens and has toured extensively.

You can check out the band by going to their YouTube; Reverbnation; Portal page; or Facebook group;

Val de G is the support act for the night. Val has been singing and playing the sax for about 12 years now. She likes all kinds of music, from house to classical but her sax heaven is improvising to the blues. Val plays only by ear, so will study guitar player’s hands, in order to follow their lead. Life on the sax edge!

Doors open at 7.30pm at Keekle Village Hall, near Cleator Moor. For tickets phone 075 465 58408.
