Egremont Town Council organised the event along with the Egremont bowls club to promote and encourage young people to take part in the sport. The club and the council hope for the involvement of other schools in the town in the future.

On the day St Bridget’s won by 30 points to Bookwell’s 18 points and all the kids got medals for participating.

Jim Wise from the bowls club presented them with their medals.

Councillor Jacqui Smith said: “Everyone had fun and it was nice to see the different generations playing together and the kids being shown how to play before their game.”

Egremont bowls club is always looking for new faces to come along and have go – so why not join in?
