A close game was played  with Moresby starting the quicker team.

Moresby turned this to their advantage as they crashed through the Egremont line to score the opening try of the game.

The try was converted and a penalty kick followed giving Moresby an early 10 – 0 lead.

The game move back and forth with neither side able to land a telling blow.

As the game headed towards half time managed to pull the game back to within a converted try with a penalty kick.

Coming out for the second half both teams carried on where they had left off but it was Egremont who scored the first try of the half as Callum Huck went over.

The conversion was missed.

The momentum was with Egremont now as Michael Quirk crashed over for their second try of the game.

The conversion was missed but Egremont now led 13 – 10.

A penalty for Moresby soon tied the game and a missed pass moments later saw the chance to take lead slip away.

With the game still close Egremont took a five point lead with a try after some quick work Craig Peet to send Liam Kirkbride over.

Moresby now needing to score and convert to win the game piled the pressure on Egremont’s defence.

With time running out a lose pass from Moresby gave Michael Quirk the chance to dive on the ball and win it back for Egremont with Moresby only 5 meters away.

Egremont held on to take a hard fought win to stay joint top with Workington but Workington lead after trashing Carlisle Crusaders 70 – 3.
