Free parking for Whitehaven Christmas light switch-on goers with Copeland Council

By Rachael Grealish

Copeland Borough Council are the first to get in the Christmas spirit as they offer free parking to light switch-on goers on Sunday November 15 from midday until midnight.

The free parking will be available in the town centre car parks owned by Copeland Borough Council, but exlude privately owned ones.

Copeland Mayor, Mike Starkie said: “I am delighted Copeland Council have been able to support the Christmas in Whitehaven team who have worked extremely hard to bring festivity to the town.

“I hope it encourages more people in to town on Sunday 15th to support the events and of course the switch on of the Christmas lights, to have the new lights will go a long way towards creating a really festive atmosphere in town.

“I would also wish to congratulate everyone on Whitehaven Town Council who have helped make this happen.”
