How should we develop and manage the coast from Sellafield to Distington?

That’s the question being asked in a series of consultations taking place now. And the organisers want your views.

The North Copeland Coastal Team is one of 116 Coastal Community Teams nationally to be awarded £10,000 to kick-start work in their areas.

The consultation events are as follows:

* Tuesday 17th November at Lowca School (3.30pm) & Parton Village Hall (3.30pm)

* Thursday 19th November at Old College, St Bees (various times for dropping in throughout the day are 10am – 12.30pm, 1.30pm – 4.30pm & 5pm – 10pm)

* Tuesday 24th November at Parton Village Hall (6pm)

* Thursday 26th November at Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project (1pm – 4pm open to the public, then 4pm – 7pm to engage with user groups in the facility)

* Friday 27th November at Cleator Moor Civic Hall (3pm – 6pm)

* Monday 30th November at Cleator Moor Town Council (10am – 1pm)

The initial objective for the team is the production of a detailed Economic Plan for the North Copeland Coast.

Coastal Community Teams will help decide where that investment goes.
