St Bees Parish Council is putting on an Open Day on Saturday 24 September to show residents and interested locals just how active the village is.

Members of the public are invited to come along to St Bees School Memorial Hall on Saturday to see displays from nearly 30 exhibitors and talk to those who are involved with organisations hosting a range of activities including Scouts, Guides, Drama groups, Bellringers, Women’s Institute and the St Bees Triers running group among many others.

St Bees is well-known in the area for an active community but the message the council wish to convey is that there’s always room for more people to get involved.  Parish council member Gus Kennedy said “come along and discover what goes on in your village.” Each organisation will have a table to show off their activities with volunteers on hand to answer questions and sign up interested newcomers.

The Open Day takes place from 2 to 6pm with refreshments available and children are welcome. St Bees School Trustees will also be running a separate ‘drop in’ in the Whitehall building from 1 to 4pm for those interested in the goals for the future of the school. Why not come along to both?
