Florence Arts Centre has firmly established itself on the cultural map of West Cumbria but there’s always been one piece of culture missing from its itinerary.

Creative writing can be found at most centres but no such group has got off the ground yet at Florence – until now.

A group has set up calling itself Knitting with Words. It has been set up by Victoria Alexander and the group has already had its first meeting. But fear not there’s still plenty of time to join – the next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 2nd from 7pm to 8pm at Florence. There is plenty of free parking at the venue and disabled access.

If you wish to take part you can get in touch with Victora care of Florence Arts Centre which is based at the former Florence Mine just off the A595 at Egremont. We hope to carry more news about the group in our next issue.
