Replica of Lamplugh Friendly Society’s banner to be launched

THE history of Friendly Societies in the UK will be the subject of Lamplugh Heritage Society’s next meeting.
It is on Thursday, January 28 at 7.30pm in Lamplugh Village Hall.

The talk will also see the launch of a replica of the Lamplugh Friendly Society’s original banner. Also at the meeting will be a dialect reading of William Dickinson’s report of a walk around the village in 1808.

Admission is £2 for non members (£1 for members) and includes refreshements.

Gosforth AMDRAM kicks off new youth sessions in February

GOSFORTH Amateur Dramatic Society kicks off its youth sessions on Friday, February 5th.

The Society provides workshops for 11 to 18-year-olds and welcomes youngsters of all abilities, with or without experience.
The group meets at Gosforth Public Hall every Friday evening from 7pm to 9pm. Sessions are £3 each.
