Mining in Lamplugh is the subject of the next talk to Lamplugh and District Heritage Society.

The speaker is the much-respected historian Mervyn Dodd.

The talk is on Thursday, November 26 from 7.30pm.

The January meeting on Thursday, January 28 is a brief history of the Lamplugh Friendly Society including dialect readings of one of the Society’s walks in 1808, an exhibition of Friendly Society documents and memorabilia and an account of the origins of Friendly Societies. The talk is preceded by the society’s annual meeting.

Meetings are held at Lamplugh Village Hall and admission is £1 for members and £2 for non-members which include refreshments.
