The Workington Comets held their annual awards evening at the Trades Hall Social Club Workington.

The room was filled with people and decorations in blue and white. The evening was a celebration of a difficult season with all riders attending apart from Kyle Howarth.

Before the awards were presented, the fans were brought up to date with team news: Rene Bach revealing that he would be taking a break from British speedway, Kenneth Hansen was looking forward to helping young riders and Matthew Wethers had not received an offer despite his impressive performances. (Wethers has since signed with the Berwick Bandits for 2016)

There were seven official Comets awards and one from the fans forum:

Most Entertaining Rider – Kenneth Hansen

Contribution to Workington Speedway – Laura Morgan

Most Bonus Points – Matthew Wethers

Most Rider of the Night Awards – Kenneth Hansen

Most Improved Average – Ricky Wells

Most Heat 15 Appearances – Ricky Wells

News and Star Rider of the Year – Ricky Wells

Predictions on the unofficial forum – Ricky Wells
